Ricky Pellerano is an external Strategy Advisor based in Panama, providing strategic planning and management consulting support to the Firm.
Ricky is a banker and lawyer, who is currently the Institutional Funding Manager at one of the leading banks in Latin America, where he sits within the Financial Institutions and Treasury & Investments departments, as part of the team that manages relationships with international correspondent banks. In this position, he has executed the bank's institutional funding strategy by raising over $2.2 billion through various types of debt financing, as well as negotiated multiple derivative and repo transactions for liquidity and treasury purposes.
Prior to becoming a banker, Ricky spent several years practicing law at major law firms in Washington, D.C. and the Dominican Republic, where he gained meaningful experience in collaborating with senior executives and management teams in the establishment of their companies’ operations in the Dominican Republic and other Central American countries, as well as providing them with business development and government affairs assistance to engage with potential partners, clients and/or public entities. He also advised clients on multiple cross border deals, particularly sell-side and buy-side M&A, debt financings, project finance and capital markets transactions.
Ricky received his Bachelor of Laws from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and completed his LL.M. in General Legal Studies, with focus on international business, financial law and law firm management, from Georgetown University Law Center. He has also participated in financial law and business certificate programs from the London School of Economics and Harvard Business School.
