Pellerano Nadal Advises on the Dominican Republic’s Largest Tourism Development: the US$2.2 Billion Cabo Rojo Project in Pedernales

Pellerano Nadal acted as lead counsel to the Dominican Republic, through the Pro-Pedernales Trust (Fideicomiso Pro-Pedernales), in connection with the development of the Cabo Rojo Development Project. The firm advised on the structuring of the project and its ongoing implementation.

The Cabo Rojo Tourism Development in Pedernales, valued at more than US$2.2 billion, is a large-scale public-private aimed at the developing a sustainable tourism destination in Pedernales. The project contemplates the development of approximately 12,000 hotel rooms, an international airport, a cruise port, and extensive supporting infrastructure aimed at establishing Cabo Rojo as a major tourism destination.

Pellerano Nadal advised on the design and implementation of the strategic partner selection process, the structuring of the public-private partnership model, and the preparation and negotiation of the key transaction documents.

The matter was led by Luis Rafael Pellerano, senior partner of the firm, together with partners Marielle Garrigó and Urania Paulino, and senior associate Eduardo Pellerano Nadal.
